Annotation

The symphony has been published in two performing editions:

I. First edition published by Josef Wöss in 1924. It is considered unreliable due to the nature and extent of the revisions he introduced.

II. Critical edition published by Leopold Nowak in 1968, in which he claimed that the 1869 version was itself a revision of an earlier 1863 score. However, current scholarship now refutes this.
