Oh Yeah (stereo)

~ Release by Charles Mingus (see all versions of this release, 11 available)

Annotation

Label: Atlantic - Catalog #: 1377 - Format: LP - Rel: 1962 (USA)
Recording Date: 1961/11/06
Location: New York City, USA
Additional:
One of the releases with Roland Kirk, this is probably the most wicked and funny Mingus album.
Mingus is shouting like a craze all along, and titles like Eat That Chicken should definitely be hit singles in a perfect world.
This edition is the original one, without the additional edited form of a Mingus interview (the full-length interview is to be found on the Complete Atlantic box-set).
It's yet unclear if this edition has been re-released on CD, and this may be simply a copy of the traditional cd version without the interview.

TEMP:

  • Booker Ervin - tenor sax
  • Rahsaan Roland Kirk - flute, siren, tenor sax, manzello, strich
  • Jimmy Knepper - trombone
  • Charles Mingus - piano, vocals
  • Doug Watkins - bass
  • Dannie Richmond - drums
