Babies

~ Release by Pulp (see all versions of this release, 2 available)

Annotation

First release of one of Pulp's finest songs.
Equally noteworthy is the legendary "Sheffield Sex City" anthem, in which various members of the band shout out the names of famous Sheffield landmarks while Candida describes the sound of "two people f**cking and really enjoying it" as a "marvellous sound".
This near-hit single was instrumental in bringing Pulp to the attention of the masses and led to the signing with Island Records.
