1972-02-20: Dark Side of the Sky: Rainbow Theatre, London, UK

~ Release by Pink Floyd (see all versions of this release, 7 available)

Annotation

The recordings look like they are from the last night at the Rainbow - the 20th Feb. This is backed up by many of the online sources and the timings of the tracks.

Cover art fails to name any date at all. Just "Live in England".

Here is the ever excellent The Concert Database and their page on this "Dark Side of the Sky" bootleg. They have it down for the 20th.

On pf-roio.de I see them talking both 17th and 20th as potential dates. I believe this is where Bootlegzone got their date from. Lack of definitive comments on either site nailing this.

I did my own research by using the Performances page for Rainbow Theatre here at MB and comparing the available lengths of the tracks as appearing on bootlegs.

https://musicbrainz.org/place/37643a76-7b8d-4a09-9796-856e5f594794/performances

A couple of tracks especially stand out.
* Us and Them is 2:25 on the 20th, but 7 mins on other nights.
* Eclipse is cut short at 1:20 on the bootlegs for the 20th, but over 3 mins on other nights.

With other tracks following a similar pattern of much better length matches to the 20th.

Last two tracks added on from (live, 1970-07-16: BBC Peel Sunday Concert, Paris Theatre, London, UK)
