Ella Fitzgerald With the Chick Webb Band (1935-1938)

~ Release by Ella Fitzgerald & Chick Webb (see all versions of this release, 1 available)

Annotation

Notes

Obscure compilation assembling what looks like early Decca/Brunswick material.
Possibly not authorized.
Note some of tracks here don't even have Fitzgerald performing (eg: Down Home Rag, that she never performed - B side of a 78RPM on which she featured side A).
Any serious fan (of either Webb or Fitzgerald) should ignore this and prefer the vastly better The Chronological Classics collection (either the Webb or Fitzgerald volumes), or the Stomping at the Savoy Proper boxset (under Chick Webb and his orchestra).

Issues

There is a small doubt whether #3 is from the 12 June or 12 October 1935. If you have information about that, please contribute them.
