Recorded March 20, 1940 (tracks 1-2), December 1943 (tracks 3-6), August 1943 (tracks 7-10), February 1944 (tracks 11-12, 19-22), October 1941 (tracks 13-14), March 18, 1943 (track 15), April 1943 (tracks 16-18) and March 1942 (tracks 23-24) in Paris.
Reissue of the Decca 78rpm discs 9021 (tracks 13-14), 9103 (tracks 16-17), 9104 (tracks 15, 18), 9108 (tracks 23-24), 9113 (tracks 7-8), 9114 (tracks 9-10), 9132 (tracks 4, 6), 9133 (tracks 3, 5) & 9148 (tracks 11-12), Polydor 524 640 (tracks 1-2) and previously unrealeased tracks 19-22.

Tracks 1 & 2 have guitar performed by Joseph Reinhardt or Jean "Malto" Ferret.
Tracks 19-22 have trumpet performed by Harry Cooper, Maurice Mouflard or Christian Bellest and double bass performed by Jean Storne or Emmanuel Soudieux.
