SubOptimalCredits

Credits for several solo vocal parts (mainly high/low sopranos) are uncertain from release texted documentation. I have not listened closely to discern between sopranos, have instead presumed practice of credit presentation of voices from high to low (i.e. Donna Brown credited only for the notably high soprano part on CD 1 track 6, and the cd 2 track 3 soprano & mezzo-soprano duet), not taking into account considerations like ‘Soprano A has solos in movements I—III, so we substitute soprano B for movement II to not make B sorry and A tired.’, or that in live situations as this recording, a soprano may want the preceding movement’s solo part to warm up and gain height (though they lie a bit apart). Julie Moffat is thus credited for all other soprano and mezzo-soprano parts (except for the cd 2 track 3 soprano & mezzo-soprano duet), and Andreas Schmidt is credited as both baritone and bass.

//

N.b. booklet misprint on page 34 for CD 1, track 5: V. Juste judex: Last 3 lines (“Inter oves …”) is sung not by choir, but vocal solo quartet.
