Many folks think this album to be one of the excesses of progressive rock, what with the armadillo based artwork. But this is a rather solid album from the genre and much of it comes from the ~20 minute long title track, which, IMO, is one of the best that ELP did. The second suite is dedicated to a smaller set of songs with some good instrumentation coming as well onto them. However, it's not the second side that will attract a listener to this LP but rather the iconic opening track that sets the tune for one of iconic prog rock moments.
