Album + Live
en: Showgirl: Homecoming Live [info]
So Kylie is finally back on stage, and what better way to celebrate than releasing a special, two-disc live treat for all her dedicated fans?
Throughout her battle with breast cancer, everyone's favourite pop princess was constantly thanking her followers for their loving support, and, judging by the constant whoops and cheers from the audience at her Sydney comeback gig (where this album was recorded), they couldn't be more pleased to have their star back where she belongs - on stage, strutting her disco stuff.
That's the only problem with this thrilling trip through Kylie's career - you know that there are flamboyant costumes and that huge grin she's famous for accompanying every song, and yet you can't see them.
However, if you close your eyes and just enjoy the feel-good tunes - from classics like ''I Should Be So Lucky'' and ''Especially For You', to ''Kids'' (featuring U2's Bono) and ''Can't Get You Out Of My Head'', you can't help but feel like you might just be in that maniacally over-excited crowd, singing along and cheering the trooper that is Kylie on her Showgirl way.
You even get to hear the atmosphere music as the next set is manoeuvred into place, giving you a breather from dancing round your living room, hairbrush in hand (yes, it really is one of THOSE records!).
If you're a true Kylie fan, this is an essential addition to your collection; if you're not, you might just find yourself becoming one. Whilst you listen to this 28-track Kylie-fest, you'll find that you just can't wipe the enormous pop grin off your face, and you won't be able to stop yourself singing along and bopping in your chair either.
To top it all off, the bluesy version of ''The Locomotion'' is fantastic - the epitome of just how far Kylie has come since her 1980s, curly-haired-and-dungareed days...
Long live the Princess of Pop!
