In 1978, the television and film company Filmways acquired both of Wally Heider's recording studios in 1604 North Cahuenga, Hollywood and 245 Hyde Street, San Francisco, including the Heider brand. It subsequently sold the latter to a partnership in 1980 that renamed it Hyde Street Studios
