EMI (Japanese double‐boxed logo)
Double‐boxed EMI logo representing Japanese domestic repertoire from 東芝EMI and EMIミュジック・ジャパン, until the latter’s acquisition by Universal Music Japan in April 2013.
If this label is correct:
- Your release's catalog number probably has a TO*T prefix, and NOT a TO*P prefix
- On the back of the booklet, you generally see next to this double‐boxed EMI logo, both the release catalog number and the company text of "TOSHIBA-EMI LIMITED" or "EMI Music Japan Inc."
- You often see somewhere on the release some ℗ year without a direct reference to any record company. (If the release mentions "EMI Records Ltd." as the copyright holder, you're probably looking for the generic EMI.)
