Founded in 1982 by Bruce Lundvall as a jazz/rock subsidiary of Elektra.
Includes a live concert by the Young Lions, sets by Woody Shaw, Joe Albany, McCoy Tyner, Bobby McFerrin (including his classic "The Voice"), Sphere, Steps Ahead, Echoes of an Era, Charles Lloyd (with Michel Petrucciani), and releases of early material by John McLaughlin, Bill Evans and Bud Powell.
Landvall left Elektra Musician in 1985, quickly followed by the obsolescence of Elektra Musician. Some of the stuff has been reissued on CD by Discovery in the 1990s.
