Decon or dC, was a UK imprint that was widely respected in dance music circles for its knack of finding acts with crossover potential. Chief among these was M People. The later signing and rebranding of Kylie Minogue as a credible artiste rather than a soap star turned pop-singer met with mixed results.
This label was evidently the dance music offshoot of Parlophone (EMI), but had some independence regarding distribution. Some releases were issued as part of a joint marketing effort with Parlophone/EMI or MCA, but most were issued by RCA UK/BMG. The label was eventually folded by RCA/BMG for financial reasons.
