MetaBrainz summit 2025
The 2025 MetaBrainz summit will be held in Barcelona during the week of 15 - 19 September 2025.
More details to be provided at a later date.
For the 2025 summit, we need:
- A good microphone (omni directional/conference mic? w. long cable or wireless)
- Two decent webcam/camera
- A spare laptop for streaming
Who is in charge of...?
- Confirming schedule:
- Letting the community know (by X time before summit), keep them informed of changes:
- Streaming:
- check you have equipment
- good microphone (omni directional/conference mic? w. long cable or wireless)
- camera that can see speaker and board
- optional: camera stand
- optional: 2nd camera that can see other participants, or can be moved to show what is needed (needs to also join the Zoom meeting)
- check that everything is powered or has enough battery
- test the day before
- zoom account login details
- hand-bot and/or Matrix/IRC channels monitoring for audience participation
- scheduling + links to planned sessions
- afterwards, upload recordings of zoom sessions + publishing to Youtube
- check you have equipment
- Accommodation:
- Food:
Feedback to remember from previous summits:
- Don't have the presentation time run for too long, as attention spans fade by the end
- Breaks between presentations to help with the above
- Keep a minimum structure, particularly regarding streaming times, so that virtual attendees can plan
