Annotation

Where does this sound come from? Olga's San Francisco hometown? Her Austrian parentage? Her "found hometown" of New Orleans? Mississippi Hill country? Listening to her soulful voice you'd swear no other soil but the Deep South¹s could have reared this woman. But the truth swirls in a creative pool that is fed by all of these streams.

Olga's debut album, "blues babe," places her firmly at the vanguard of new blues artists combining innovation with a deep sense of roots. "blues babe" was recorded and produced by OLGA at home in New Orleans on an analog 4-track & digital 8-track using Pro-tools these tunes are raw baby! Mastered by Steve Pelletier. All songs by Olga except "219 Train" by Buddy Bolden.

OLGA plays acoustic, electric & classical guitars, tambourine, chimes, recorder, washboard, tap shoes & slide with an antique silver knife. As for that sound? Even Olga had "somehow become convinced that a white girl couldn't sing the blues." People don't quite believe it when she tells them she's a blues maker. "Then they hear me and they really can't believe it!"
