Iggy Pop

~ Person

Born in Michigan as James Newell June Osterberg, Iggy Pop is also known as the Godfather of Punk and his frenzied stage performances have inspired countless others. He emerged with the four-piece garage band, the Stooges, but due to Pop's drug addiction, they broke up. Pop went on to collaborate with David Bowie, notably on Bowie's hit 'China Girl'. Aside from music, he has acted in a number of films. Curt Wild (Ewan McGregor) in the film Velvet Goldmine is partially based on Iggy Pop.
