Dubchild is one first influential producers to help create and form the sound that we today called Dubstep, Dubchild originates from a very big musical family whose father played and still plays for Reggae, funk, soul, and calypso bands, he was taught to play drums from the age of six.

Dubchild was brought up listening to artists like Abyssinian s right through to Marvin Gaye, The Police, Hendrix, Cameo; Funk Parliament ...His main love was and still is Hip-Hop. Hooked from early age he was first introduced to the culture from watching the film break-dance back in the early 80s,

Dubchild began producing at the age of 11 on an old Amiga 500 purchased by his older brother he really got into Hip-Hop production from 92 onwards when he started collecting vinyl inspired by artists such as EPMD, Big Daddy Kane, Lord Finesse, Public Enemy, BDP, LL Cool J etc., and also UK artists such as London Posse, Krispy 3, Son of Noise, Rebel MC and Demon Boyz, Listening and producing Hip-Hop opened the door for dubchild to start producing more underground music like jungle drum & bass
Dubchild was then introduced to the early sounds of 4x4 garage and early 2step by a good friend and mentor Selector.S introducing him to labels like Nice and Ripe, Well built, 500 Rekords groove chronicles etc..dubchild instantly was attracted to B side dub versions of the early garage releases he instantly took to the sound and started producing his own style, the dubchild name was born.

He was taken on board by local drum and bass outlet Formation Records in 1999 after his friend played a couple of his demo's to the label owner DJ SS, Dubchild began releasing material in late 2001 releasing on sister label 100% recordings this was around the time garage was getting darker and branching into different category's.
In 2003 dubchild was then approached by Dj Lombardo label owner of fragile beats and one of the first of a handful of labels to be associated to the Dubstep world, releasing artist such as Search and Destroy and was the first to sign up Caspa (Quiet storm) in early 2003. Lombardo was the first Dubstep label owner to hit places as far as Sydney Australia were a lot of dubchild material was getting played during this time dubchild was gaining major radio play from pirate and legal stations across the UK and further afield..Radio 1xtra presenter and dj j da flex a person responsible for originally pushing the darker garage sounds helped push the sounds of dubchild to other similar artist, through interviews on 1xtra dubchild met other new and upcoming producers such as MRK1, Hatcha, Benga and Skream, Toasty boy etc. the scene was very small labels like Hotflush & Tempa started coming through and nights such as FWD began pushing the scene to the masses a mixture of different sounds where played from more of the break'ier sounds to the minimum sounds of broken down Grime there was no Dubstep name as such it was just a sound.

After fragile Beatz dubchild was approached by Caspa aka (Quiet Storm) in early 2005, he was starting up his own label called storming production, a label set up to push the darker break'ier side of the sounds of what was going on then. Dubchild became the main artist on storming releasing and remixing the majority of the storming catalogue with tunes like Take me, voodoo, walk and live, mount Zion, warning dem etc. tracks such as roll dat shit which became a big underground anthem for most djs a tune made and played 5 years prior its release in 2005, and the first tune to bring the wobble bass sound to the clubs.
Through his time at storming dubchild broke the mould by being one of the first dubstep artist to collaborate with drum and bass pioneers hospital records releasing the smasher anthem “Cum Dancing” this was noted as the first full frontal picture vinyl releases to date in the dubstep scene dubchild was also remixed by artist such as Distance, Reso, Boxcuter, Protocol x to name a few, through all of the dubchild releases this gave Caspa his profile and the means to help him start off Dubpolice and sub soldiers one the biggest labels in the dubstep scene.

After Dubchild left storming productions in 2007 he was approached by Rossi B founder of A.R.M.Y/Heavy Artillery and began releasing more grime based dubstep his first release The Bumbaclart riddim hit No1 on the 1xtra charts for weeks his unique style attracted artist such as foreign beggers to his sound dubchild helped push the profile for Rossi b and luca releasing such bullets as Lethal dubz prt1 and 2 and remixing artist such as Calanda and Zomby during this time Dubchild was djing worldwide places such as Estonia, Ukraine, Holland, Denmark, New York ,Brooklyn etc.

During a quiet period in his career dubchild was approached by pioneer 2 step creator Noodles of Groove Chronicles and joined DPR in early 2009 where he continues his onslaught of Dub defender tunes, dubchild has now been remixing artist such as Alicia Keys, Guru (Gangstarr),Zed Bias, El-B, Pasty Fuller, Dj Vadim, Serocee, Mark Hill (Artful) releasing bullets such as the Soldier plates vol ep's and Ital Dubz Vol's getting love from the djs such as Mista jam, Dj kayper, Annie Mac, from Radio1 to Rinse fm dubchild sound is still supported and played across the globe.
