Edge started in 1983 under the name of Galadriel and released two cassette albums in 1984. They changed their name to Edge and released Suction 8 in 1986. In 1987, a compilation tape titled Galadriel's Edge was released under the name Edge of Faith, a compilation cassette with tracks from the previous tapes. In 1992,
French label MSI released a CD version of Suction 8. MSI also released one previously unreleased track on their various artist compilation La Mosaïque. These were credited to Edge.
