The Chancers

Annotation

Legendary Czech/British ska band, The Chancers have been confounding expectations for almost twenty years. Formed in 1997 as the first two tone band in the country, The Chancers have developed a unique musical style: merging traditional ska, '70's British Two Tone, northern soul and rock'n'roll into a dynamic sound all of their own. Their live performances have earned them a reputation as one of the most entertaining outfits on the scene, and led to invitations to perform with some of the giants of Ska music such as Bad Manners, the Selector The Hotknives and many others.

They have toured regularly throughout the Czech and Slovak Republics as well as playing concerts in France, England, Scotland, Germany, Croatia, Hungary,Denmark etc.

The Chancers have recorded four full albums each of which received critical and popular acclaim for their no holds barred approach to addressing difficult and controversial subjects. From contemporary social issues to sex and politics, their music and lyrics offer honest and thought provoking opinions and analyses in a penetrating and highly personal style.

And you can dance to it.

In fact Chancers' concerts are renowned for leaving the audience a mass of gyrating humanity skanking in a pool of their own sweat, but they are also a band whose ideas and singular approach stay with you for a long time after the gig.
