The Metal Gurus are a Glam rock side project of The Mission.
Just before the release Carved in Sand, the four members of The Mission formed a Glam Rock side project The Metal Gurus. They supported The Wonder Stuff at an Xmas '89 concert.
The band performed covers of Slade, Bowie and T.Rex hits.
They also released a 1990 Xmas single with all profits going to the charity Childline.
The band name comes from the T-Rex hit The Metal Guru
