Annotation

"The Romantic Strings and Orchestra" (and its variants) is a pseudonym for an unknown or various "pick-up" orchestras conducted by various, and mostly anonymous conductors. One of the known conductors was William Hill-Bowen, a British conductor and arranger, who recorded for the Reader's Digest label, though these were marketed anonymously under the name of "Singing Strings" and "The Romantic Strings and Orchestra". Another possible conductor was the American Robert Mandell who recorded over 50 LP discs in London for Readers Digest Records under a variety of pseudonyms.
