"If ever there was a soundtrack to my life, this is what I would want it to be... this band are, for lack of a better word, awesome." Edinburgh Fringe Review 2008 - ThreeWeeks | eDaily - no 24 *****

“...Infectious rhythms stand next to haunting beauty.”
Fiddle On Magazine

At the forefront of the emerging ‘Nu-Nordic’ scene Fribo is a unique collaboration between Norwegian singer Anne Sofie Linge Valdal, Scottish fiddler Sarah-Jane Summers and English born guitarist Ewan MacPherson.

After first playing around an old Edinburgh kitchen table in 2003, these three musicians found a great deal in common, creating an exciting, adventurous music which is now gaining recognition and acclaim for blending different styles together with great sensitivity but an exuberant feel for contemporary sounds and rhythms.

Since they began working together Fribo have a debut album under their belt on the Fellside label and have performed in many countries including America, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, UK and Ireland. Performing at everything from festivals and large-scale events such as Womad, Celtic Connections & APAP to wee Folk Clubs and straw filled Swedish barns!

2010 sees the band back on the road to promote the May release of the hotly anticipated follow up to their highly acclaimed debut album:

“…fun, moving, engaging, adventurous and a sheer delight from start to finish." Songlines ****
