Kenny Drew

~ Person

Annotation

Born Kenneth Sidney Drew.
Mr Drew was a bop-pianist, highly respected by other fellow bop-musicians in the 50's.
He eventually moved to France in 1961, then Denmark, leaving behind most of his american audience, but gaining huge credit in Europe.
Teaming up with NHØP, his work counts an impressive number of records.
If not recognised as he should be, Drew had a successfull career, and leaves us with a good number of valuable Steeplechase, Riverside and Blue Note sessions.
His son, Kenny Drew Jr., is also a major pianist.
