Queen Drie (Singer/Songwriter & Rapper)

Queen Drie, born Adrien Amponsah, is a relatively new Hip Hop and World artist. Queen Drie began her music career in 2020 to contribute positively to art and the culture within it. Her songwriting and performing goal is to relate and educate people about mental health, love and God.

Queen Drie’s music is made for everyone. As a Ghanaian-American artist living in Chicago, she knows a thing or two about different experiences, and her music reflects that. Drie is sassy, smart, eloquent, laid back and her tracks range from calm and refreshing, to energetic while maintaining a vibe that’s positive yet punchy. Her fans love the sound of her arrangements and also the weight of her lyrics. The fact that there are so many people out there who love Rap with poignant lyrics motivates her to continue writing about real-world experiences.

Despite being new in the industry, Drie’s music has been widely received in over 69 countries, and, in the span of a year, has amassed a growing number of fans in Brazil, Italy, Spain, America and Ghana. Queen Drie’s music is made for everyone. As such, she self-categorizes it in a genre called “World.” As an artist who was born in Accra, Ghana, and now lives in Chicago, she knows a thing or two about different experiences, and her music reflects that.

As an independent artist always seeking opportunity for growth, Drie has performed live at the Bella Shmurda Show in Chicago, Summer Jam, hosted by 2wo Offishall, Ghanafest and Chicago’s First Ankara Fest, hosted by Nairaflash Entertainment. On August 13th 2021, Queen Drie won the Best Female Act at the Afrobeat Entertainment Awards in Chicago.
