Annotation

Chrome Hoof was formed circa 2000 by brothers Leo and Milo Smee. From the offset, musical worlds were in collision: Leo played bass with Doom Metal pioneers Cathedral, whereas Milo operated within the Dance/Electronica field often under the Kruton banner. By 2005 a semi-stable line-up had formed, which already included Chloe Herington, Emma Sullivan & Andy Gustard (initially on triangle!). Around the release of Beyond Zade (2006), Jussi Brightmore (guitar), Nuella Love (vox) and Tim Bowen (cello) moved on to other projects. Andy Gustard then assumed the role of first guitar and Emmett Elvin provided the band with their first full-time keyboardist. For Pre-Emptive False Rapture (2007) the line-up was expanded to include Lola Olafisoye (vox) and Sarah Anderson (violin/viola). This line-up has remained essentially stable since that time. In 2009, Cardiacs and Knifeworld guitarist Kavus Torabi joined, playing most live shows with the band and contributing to the 2010 release Crush Depth.
