New Philharmonic Orchestra (Alfred Scholz related orchestra used on budget recordings)

~ Orchestra

Annotation

The New Philharmonic Orchestra is a name found on budget compilations of Alfred Scholz, and may represent one or more different recording orchestras. The name is easily confused with the New Philharmonia Orchestra, which was the name used by the Philharmonia Orchestra, one of the major London orchestras, during the period 1964-1976. The associated conductor (one of the well-known British conductors or one of the pseudonyms associated with Alfred Scholz) and the label are usually a good guide as to which of the two to use.

There exists a genuine orchestra of this name, a professional orchestra in Illinois, USA, founded in 1977 (see http://www.atthemac.org/shows-events/new-philharmonic/about-new-philharmonic/), however they don't seem to have ever made any recordings that would be listed here.
