Belgian ambient-pop trio.
Current band members: Alex Callier (bass, main songwriting and producing), Raymond Geerts (guitar), Noémie Wolfs (lead singer).
Initially they operated under the name Hoover. The name was quickly changed in Hooverphonic, due to complaints by The Hoover Company (an American vacuum and floor cleaner manufacturer) as well as discovering that other groups were already using that name.
Yet Hoover isn't included as an alias for Hooverphonic, to avoid mixing up with the Hoover-called band in the MusicBrainz-db (a Washington-DC based post-hardcore band which existed from 1992 till 1994).
