Death Angel were first active between 1982 - 1991, when after a touring automobile accident, which left Andy Galleon critically injured and an unsuccessful Japanese tour with a replacement drummer they disbanded.

In 2001 they reformed for a one of charity gig for Testaments Chuck Billy, the response was so positive this turned into a full time reformation and the band are still recording and touring today
