Deeside in North Wales, famed for its steelworks and Gary Speed, is a resolute and industrial area. Such a band is Stokoz To Moscow, an alternative rock three piece. Uncompromising, dynamic and energetic, Stokoz blend soaring vocal melodies with intensity and sheer chutzpah. With influences stemming from artists such as Biffy Clyro, Rage Against The Machine, Reuben, Gallows and many unsigned outfits, the band have played many of the top Northern music venues: Manchester Academy 3, Manchester Ruby Lounge, Liverpool Barfly, Liverpool Cavern Club and Wrexham Central Station, to name a few.

With their own legion of followers (the “Stokoz Army”), the boys (Martin Gallagher - guitar & vocals, Ben Griffiths - bass & vocals and Gareth Jones - drums & vocals) have also laid waste several local events, with many exceeding capacities of 300, 500 and 700 fans. They've also had airings on BBC Radio Wales' Adam Walton Show, and BBC Radio 6 Music’s 'Fresh On The Net' with Tom Robinson. Not to mention being Fly Magazine's August 2008 “Band Of The Month”. Having supported such established artists as The Automatic, Future Of The Left, Kong, People In Planes, Anavris, Fei Comodo and Deaf Havana, 2010 looks to be a big year for the band.

What intrigues is their non-conformity, and there is something which has been dubbed a “curious grace” in evidence whenever they perform. Their sense of melody wins over any pop music lover, yet at the same time wielding that raw aggression and power which entices the aficionado of “heavier” genres. Stokoz To Moscow are as commercial as they are alternative, as progressive as they are punk: a new, fresh and exciting concoction.
