Ella Jo (singer songwriter)

Ella|Jo is a singer songwriter who began her singing career at the age of 18.

In 1985 she began a seven year association with a songwriter and guitarist, producing original pieces. Folk and rock roots were interwoven with the indie sound to make more intelligent, durable, popular music.

Her recording project began in 2004, briefly pausing for a re-visit to India in 2005 to research the origins of Tarot Cards, (published in Femspec Magazine, July 2007). Whilst in India she also took singing lessons at Benares University, and in 2006 she visited Greece and Turkey to write her book, 'Journey of a Tarot Reader.'

Her first two albums, Limits of Milkweed and Alter Ego were produced together in 2008 and a further album, Attitude Is Everything was completed a year later. Lyric books containing information about the music were produced to accompany the albums (available on Blurb.com)

Since the release of her albums she has played live acoustic versions of her songs to critical acclaim in the UK.

Ella Jo says,
‘My creativity comes from nature and my observations of human life. I enjoy producing original material and cherish the inspiration I gain from those I work with. My aim is to bring a fresh, authentic energy into popular music.’

She is currently working on a fourth album, taking her inspiration from a rural retreat in the UK.
