The Pinafores were sisters Eunice, Beulah, and Ione Kettle who were born in Colorado. While they were toddlers, their family moved to Glendale, California where the sisters finished high school. They eventually met with Gene Autry through his arranger Paul Sells, and Autry hired them after a single audition for his radio show in September 1945. They had also recorded with Eddie Dean and appeared with the Les Paul Trio. more…
