Bieling was forced to end his singing career in the middle of 1913 due to problems with his throat which had begun in 1910, when he initially damaged his throat by repeatedly, for many hours, making "yipping" sounds in the production of Edison Records 552 "A Cowboy Romance" with the Premier Quartet.
