Spaza isn’t just South Africa’s hip hop, it’s a way of life - truly representing the lives and struggles of the people of South Africa. Middle Finga represents!

Middle Finga a.k.a Rhamncwa was born in the ghettoes of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He raps in a combination of English and “vernac” (the indigenous languages of South Africa), about his life and the social issues that surround him eKasi (in the hood).

Middle Finga: “For me it’s the best way to communicate with my people. It has made me realise that I’m more than just an MC. I’m a story teller, writer and ghetto spokesperson.”

When he moved to Cape Town in 1997 Middle Finga joined Spaza group Def Marchoa. The group was featured on a Kwaito, R&B and hip hop rap compilation entitled ‘Hola Cape Town’ which was released in 1998. Thereafter Middle Finga left the group to join infamous Cape Town Spaza crew Maniac Squad.

In Johannesburg Middle Finga collaborated with Afro-Jazz artist Sliq Angel who released his debut album in 2004. Middle also features on the forthcoming albums of both Mizchif and Sifiso Sudan, as well as the Pioneer Unit South African hip hop music compilation Drudge Dialect Vol. 1 and the Planetary Assault mix tape CD.

Middle Finga has performed at numerous festivals both in South Africa and internationally. Some of his most noteworthy performances include:

This multitalented performer is also an actor, starring in Jonzi D’s production ‘Le Club’ at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg.

Middle Finga’s promo tracks and free mp3 downloads are currently tearing up Cape Town’s airwaves on radio stations Good Hope FM, Bush Radio and Zibonele FM.

Early 2007 sees Middle Finga putting the finishing touches to his solo album ‘Spaza’. Production credits include Dplanet, Hipe, Coco and Saturn.

The album will feature Maniac Squad, MXO, 340ml, SAMA-nominated singer Camagu, sultry soulstress/diva Galatia, Oracle Flo, Ben Sharpa, Bra Mawaza, Rato & Sim.
