The Cues

~ Group

Annotation

This group would eventually record under more names than almost any group in history, e.g.:

  • Ruth Brown and The Rhythm Makers
  • Ivory Joe Hunter and His Ivorytones
  • Carmen Taylor and Her Boleros
  • Joe Turner and His Blue Kings
  • LaVern Baker and The Gliders...

Most of the times, they received no credit at all on records ranging from those by Ray Charles ("Drown in My Tears") to the early hits of Bobby Darin ("Dream Lover").
