Matthew Osborne

Matthew John Osborne was an extraordinary singer, songwriter and musician who lived in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Matt passed away in his sleep on the morning of Friday April 23, 2004, just a few weeks shy of his 32nd birthday.

Matt wrote and performed for the better part of 10 years primarily in the Southern Ontario region, but his music took him across Canada and into the U.S. when the opportunity presented itself. Matt's sound was a melting pot of blues, rock, folk and even the odd celtic ingredient.

Matt was an incredibly influential presence in the Ontario music scene. While never achieving great commercial success, his legacy extends beyond the 4 amazing CDs he released to include the literally hundreds of artists he encouraged and influenced. He was a superb guitarist, singer and songwriter, but he was also a mentor, role model and friend to countless musicians and members of his community. He is deeply missed.
