Envisage are a four piece Alternative/Metal/Acoustic band from Lurgan in Northern Ireland. The band were born out of a previous project involving Kayleigh and John who formed metal band Pariah.
Kayleigh being lead singer and John the rhythm guitarist. When Kayleigh left that band Pariah they both went in a new direction and changed their name to 'Autist'. John eventually approached Kayleigh in late December about starting an acoustic duo, knowing that he & Kayleigh shared the same musical interests.
The two began writing new material in January 2008.
They then began gigging in various venues around Lurgan and were chosen to enter the City-beat fm star search in where they became a very credible forth. With the City-beat Star Search completed they recruited Bassist Matt, almost completely by accident Matt quickly became a permanent fixture in the band. Then in October of 2008 under strangely similar circumstances they found Drummer Steffy. With the addition of bass and drums the band line up was complete so they set about developing a new musical direction with a much heavier but melodic sound.
The new line played their first gig on New years Eve 2008 in the Ceili House in Lurgan supporting local funk band 'Montana Floss' (http://www.myspace.com/montanafloss) From there the gigs came thick and fast and their local fan base grew with every gig. In the summer of 2009 Envisage wooed their way through the heats of a Battle of the Bands in Newry & eventually were placed 2nd with first place going to Portadown’s black metal band Drained White. On the 5th of September Envisage played their first headline gig in the Ceili House again. Hailed as a great success they have since played many headlining gigs with the cream of Northern Ireland’s talent.
More recently with the local following at an all time high Envisage have recorded their first EP which was launched at a sell out gig in Lurgan, have hired themselves a manager and were the first band in Northern Ireland to be chosen to record a track on a proposed multi track CD which is to be digitally distributed UK wide by TruSound Music celebrating the province’s best unsigned acts. Come the Spring Envisage are to co-headline the unsigned act stage at this year's Lark in the Park 3 day music festival in Moira, Co Down.
You can also vote for the band in this year's Red Bull Bedroom jam!!
The band is hurtling towards higher goals with many bigger events and appearances in the pipeline and have caught the gaze of a local record label. Onwards and upwards..
