Annotation
Originally titled ‘A Date With Diana’. Written originally for John Burden of the London Symphony Orchestra and first performed by him with the RAF Flying Training Command Band conducted by Vinter at the Torquay Pavilion, Devon, England in 1942. Dennis Brain also performed, broadcast and recorded the work.
Hunter’s Moon was subsequently arranged by Tommy Dodd for tenor horn (in Eb – referred to in the USA as alto horn) for Brian Smith, and Gordon Higginbottom performed this with the James Shepherd Versatile Brass. The work is also available with piano accompaniment.
