I'm a vociferous fan of hip hop (underground US especially, but also NZ and some mainstream rap), drum & bass, Nine Inch Nails and a fair swathe of other electronica, hard rock and metal.

What I used to do at MB:
* A lot. Lots of editing, lots of voting, style council participation, mentoring new users, bug triaging, release testing, helping users on forums daily, wiki wardening and documentation, working with the dev team to highlight issues the community is facing and help nudge development in directions I felt would benefit our users. Some coding/development on MusicBrainz Picard and its plugins.

What I do at MB now:
* Nothing; but I will respond to edit notes/questions and messages.

Why the change?
* In early 2010 some things happened in the MB community that I felt disturbed by, and no longer wished to be associated with or volunteer my time to. So I scaled back what I did to the few things I enjoyed. As of 2013 The Nastiness had abated and people/things have changed in the MB style community for the better, but my enthusiasm for the process had been exhausted.
* The forums became exhausting too. I put a lot of time and effort into helping others with both MB and Picard, but over time I gained less and less satisfaction from it and I felt it was appreciated less. So I stopped. Maybe I'll return to the forums one day.
