Brown Towel

Kurt Cobain played his first concert at Gessco Hall in Olympia, WA with this band, which he formed after an unsuccessful audition for the Melvins in 1984. The band's name was incorrectly listed as "Brown Cow" on the concert poster. Kurt recited poetry over improvised music, backed by by Dale Crover and Buzz Osbourne of the Melvins. For unknown reasons, a later revision of the flyer advertised the trio as "Grinder".

The group dissolved at some point before the end of the summer of 1986. Kurt then formed Electrifiedshitfuck.
