Annotation

Recorded for radio broadcast on November 20, 1939. Includes liner notes by Joel Vance.

Digitally remastered by Malcolm Addey.

This set collects a variety of 1939 transcription recordings, originally created as a cheap source of music for radio stations. Fats Waller performs a variety of public domain material (upon which songwriting royalties didn't have to be paid), including "Oh! Susannah," "Go Down Moses," and "She'll Be Coming Down the Mountain," with his trademark energetic good humor.
