Seminal hip hop album released in 1988 by Def Jam in association with Columbia/CBS in many territories.
Built on a vast array of soul and funk samples, the tracks have gone on to be widely sampled themselves.
The album contains an introduction and interludes recorded at a Brixton, London UK live concert for Dave Pearce's A Fresh Start to the Week show on Capital Radio.

A remastered edition was issued in 1995. (CD cat: 314 527 358-2).
