This relationship type is symmetric.
Description
This relationship relates two musicians together, where they are brothers or sisters. This is only intended for linking together artists who are in the database anyway - please don't add people to the database just so that you can use them in a "is a sibling of" relationship. This will avoid clogging up the database with lots of information that isn't music-related.
This AdvancedRelationshipType for ArtistArtistRelationships is part of the PersonalAssociationRelationshipClass.

What to do with half-siblings? What about adopted siblings? Is there any kind of "blood brother" relationship we want to represent, or am I listening to too much Iron Maiden (or both)?
There is a big issue with DontMakeRelationshipClusters here. The proposal with the most backing at the moment is that we should link only to the eldest sibling, but this doesn't match the wording of this relationship and is yet to be formally adopted. Certainly the Jackson family doesn't conform to this guideline right now. Personally, I still think a) the clean way to represent this is using ParentRelationshipType, but b) this information doesn't belong in MusicBrainz anyway. --MatthewExon
