Relationship Type "Contains Samples From"
Link Phrases
track contains samples from track
track provides samples for track
Description
This relationship gives credit to songs which were sampled from some other released recording. The new song must contain sufficient original material that it can't be considered a "remix" (see RemixRelationshipType) or a "mash-up" (see MashUpRelationshipType).
If a song contains samples from a particular artist, but it isn't known what the original recording is, or the original recording was never released, then you can use the SamplesArtistRelationshipType.
This AdvancedRelationshipType is part of the RemixRelationshipClass.
Relationship Attributes
"additional"
We're still not sure what this is going to mean - see AdditionalRelationshipAttribute for discussion.
Style
The person responsible for selecting or extracting the samples is usually the PrimaryArtist of the work, or the producer (ProducerRelationshipType), depending on genre. You can also use "performed instrument on" with instrument "Sampler" (see PerformerRelationshipType).
Examples
The song
Rockafella Skank by Fatboy Slim includes a sample from the Just Brothers song
Sliced Tomato.
Rise by Gabrielle uses a sample from Bob Dylan's
Knockin' on Heaven's Door.
Discussion
Knockin' on Heaven's Door:
provides samples for Rise, Rise, Rise, Rise, Rise, Rise ... , Rise, Rise, Rise, Rise, Rise, Rise, Rise, Rise, Rise and Rise

Uh, OK. I think that when a track is remastered, recompiled or re-released, then it should be assumed that inherits the same relationships from the original track. Because the above is just... excessive
