This Page has been suggested for deletion |
|
Several reasons may lead to a page being suggested for deletion, the most common being: 1. the content of the page is not appropriate, or just irrelevant to MusicBrainz, 2. the page duplicates (or has been entirely superseded) by another one, 3. the page no longer has a purpose (possibly following the introduction of a new server feature) or is entirely bit-rotted while not being of interest enough to be kept as History |
|
Pages marked as deleted won't usually be deleted immediately though, so, if you think the page either should be preserved as History or still serves a purpose and should just be kept, you may discuss this with the editor who marked it as such in order to expose your reasons and reach an agreement. |
|
If you're a newcomer who just stumbled here, chances are high that this page is not relevant for you either way, and you may rather head for the main documentation. |
Status Update: Somewhat a CandidateForDeletion. This is lagging behind the real effort made on this, and is slowly bitroting. Once done with the first DocumentationRelease, we should check on what's in here and see if there is still things to do. Furthermore, this page name is probably just bad and may be reused for something else. -- dmppanda 2008-02-26 18:21:05
Status: Right now this page is just a rough collection of items that accompanies the effort of RestructuringTheDocumentation. Feel free to add new (existing or yet to be made) items!
The idea behind this is that I felt I could have a list of all terms that are explained in the wiki to remind me to use their WikiNames when copy editing text. BTW please try to avoid single word WikiNames because these are BadWikiNames--DonRedman
Many, if not all, of these should be listed under CategoryTerminology once they exist, and can be found through the BackLinks on that page.
AutoMod => don't use!
AutoModeration is BadTerminology for AutoEdit
AutoModerator is BadTerminology for AutoEditor
ModerationNote, ModNote are BadTerminology for EditNote
NonAlbumTrack (meaning a single track)
NonAlbumTracks (meaning the special album)
-
SortNameStyle (capitalise N for consistency)
TrackNumber
TrackTime (s?)
TRM (Non-Wiki Word, but that is ok, I suppose. We could also use HowTRMsWork)
-
PUIDCollision (by extension) (not sure if it is a valid concept, though. --MartinRudat)
WikiDocsel - Describes the process of making a POWP (plain old wiki page) into a SNWDP (shiny new WikiDocs page)
For the following terms I suggest that we not use the names as WikiNames but make a page explaining the broader concept:
Voting:
Editing:
We also have HowAnnotationsWork and HowMusicBrainzWorks. These should probably be used for detailed explanations, with other WikiNames used for more basic explanations.
