I am a student in Sydney, Australia. My music knowledge probably stems from borrowing a rock music encyclopedia one night and reading it cover to cover over the weekend; up until I was 11 I was a pure classical junkie thanks to my piano teacher. I am a fastidious grammar fascist. I know traditional Chinese, but my simplified is quite dodgy, strangely enough.
My name on MusicBrainz is
dirtyboots. I have an interest in style issues (probably because I'm crap at programming and it makes more sense to me than development).
Things I have been progressively, on/off correcting in the database
"bonus" designations (most of this done with the help of rcon, occasional checks needed to clean up incoming data)
stuff that should be on non-album track names that aren't, but were shoved in the mod note then ignored
multi-volume series with botched names
cleaning up botched live bootleg names that should be in "date: location" format
cleaning up the Various Artists section. This is easily the most irritating job I've done on the database so far.
cleaning up individual artists
Things I would do if I wasn't quite as lazy
check Chinese data and sortnames
check that all items in a series exist and their titles are standardised
ask TarragonAllen about:
use of commas after other punctuation in titles
use of "date: location" format in live bootlegs that are named with only that information
Help in any of the above would be appreciated.
