  • <!> This not only is a dmppanda experiment, but it's also a somewhat dormant project. The initial author now thinks the best way to do this is to store the data in annotations, using a standard formating, and retrieve releases on-demand with a script running on a local copy of the database. <!>

Purpose

This page is an experimental project to list recording locations in jazz (be they studios or cafés), and to retro-link releases to the corresponding entries. AFAIK, there are no short/medium term project to have a "location" entry in MusicBrainz, hence the need for this page (so say its original author :) ).

The documentation work needed is probably enormous and can't be achieved by one man/panda. Still, I think this is the only project of this kind on the internet, and it might become an interesting tool, and produce significant results in the field of jazz discography research with as little as a few hundred entries.

Ultimate Goal

Convince somebody that we need recording location entries in MusicBrainz ;).
