Description

This links an entity to a fan-created web site.

The description field should be left empty.

The fan site should be linked only to the most appropriate entity. If it is a fan site for a band, then the link should be made from the site to the band's artist listing, and not to the artist listing for any one member of the band.
As there are potentially thousands of web sites to which links could be created, this relationship should be reserved for those pages that are most useful as a resource for MusicBrainz users. Web sites whose unique content is only a few obscure bits and pieces should be avoided.
When possible, favor the other, more specific, relationship types in this class or in External Website Relationship Class, unless the page you want to link to really is a general purpose fan site.
If a website is officially endorsed by the entity covered by a site, the Official Homepage Relationship Type may be a more appropriate relationship type to use.
