This relationship type belongs to the Alternative Version Relationship Class.
Description
This indicates that a release group is a cover of another release group.

Attributes
“start date”
- The Begin Date fields should be left empty.
“end date”
- The End Date fields should be left empty.
“parody”
- This attribute indicates a version with satirical, ironic, or otherwise humorous intent. Parodies in most cases have altered lyrics.
“translated”
- This attribute indicates a version with the lyrics in a different language than the original. The translated language must be different from the original language. While a literal translation is not required for this attribute, the translated lyrics should still be distinctly and detectably derived from the original lyrics.
Guidelines
- Use this relationship when an artist performs a new rendition of another artist's album.
- To indicate that an artist covered another artist's song, use the recording-work Performance Relationship Type with the "cover" attribute checked.
