Although based in London. the London Bulgarian Choir performs Bulgarian folk songs. Dessislava Stefanova, formerly of the Philip Koutev Ensemble, has led the choir since its formation in 2000.

The London Bulgarian Choir have released one album, Alyana Galyana, and have contributed to film and television soundtracks including Troy and The Virgin Queen. Primarily a performing choir, the LBC perform more than twenty concerts a year across the UK. They toured Bulgaria in 2005 and 2010.

The choir has collaborated with Doves for the BBC Electric Proms, and with British Sea Power for concerts at the Roundhouse and Regent’s Park. Sections of the choir have performed with British Sea Power at Glastonbury and Latitude Festivals, Jools Holland’s Later…, and the Nationwide Mercury Music awards. The choir were BBC Radio 3’s Open Choir of the Year, 2006-7.
