After featuring in a number of Paul and Carla Bley trios, Folwell made a few appearances with Ayler.
He also got involved in some Renaissance-rock bands, before he returned to LA, where he became "Billy Superball, the magician, madcap, autoharp-and bass-playing bozo" in The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo. :p
